Hello everyone!!!

I hope you are all doing well. I am good and things are very ok here.

I am now at the orphanage in Himo updating my Blog.

Yesterday, we all went to International School Moshi where Revo goes. We got the chance to swim, play basketball and football, and watch some videos with our friends from the school. The students at the school are amazing! They are so friendly. I really had a wonderful time with them all.

I will be in grade 9 next year and this is the year we will sit for the National Exams at some point.  This exam will determine whether or not I will get to grade 10; I have decided I will.

We will all leave for our villages soon. I will get to see my relatives and friends and celebrate Christmas and New Year with them.

Hello everyone!

I am now in grade eight at The Royal Secondary School. I went to the same school for my primary education. The primary school has both day and boarding scholars. Unlike the primary school, the secondary school has only boarders. It is very nice to be in boarding school.

I have made some new friends already. I spend my free time with them. It’s fun having them around. We play soccer and other games and sports together. I enjoy my classes. The subjects I like the most are Geography and History. I ranked number four out of nineteen students.

Our school is having a huge library and a technology center under construction. We will be able to ready a lot of books and use the computers! We closed school on the 3rd of April. We have a one-month holiday. I use my time reading books, revising for my classes and playing soccer and basketball with my friends at the orphanage in Himo. I also love drawing.

I am now in the MAD guest house in Moshi Town updating my Blog. We painted the house yesterday. We spent the night here and we are about to go out for swimming at the YMCA in Moshi Town.

We  will be having friends from the States visit us in the coming month. I hope we will have fun.

Our school re-opens on the 4th of May. I can’t wait to meet my friends again. After we open, we will be having a sports day. It will be great! Parents and other guests will be coming too!

Below are my exam results for secondary school:

Today I am in Moshi town working on my Blog page. Last week on Saturday I went to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, which is the highest mountain in Africa!  It was very nice although it was only for one day. It takes around seven days to get to the top! I believe there are also seven ways to get up the Mountain too. Seven difference routes you can take!

  1. A few weeks back I got the chance to learn about how to plan out my life. I learned about values, and I can share with you my top two values  and why I value them.

1- Compassion = To be aware of people with problems.

2- Respect= To respect all people around either young or elder.

Please tell me what are your top values and why? I heard it is going to be Thanksgiving in the USA soon. What will you and your family do to celebrate? Why is your holiday called, Thanksgiving?  What do you give thanks for?

Here is a picture of me at my graduation:

Me at my graduation! It was such a nice day!

I am  becoming an artist!  I recently visited the Cultural Heritage Museum with MAD. While at the museum, we were given  paper and pencils and told  to draw/replicate our  favorite piece of art in the whole museum. While most of the kids worked on one or two drawings,I produced three great pieces of art!

Happy Thanksgiving! In our country, Thanksgiving is a time when we reflect on all that God has done in our lives and we’re thankful to Him. It’s a day of spending time with family, and many people travel great distances to spend a few days with their extended families. Many people spend the day together watching parades and football games on television. Its a day of feasting and most people traditionally serve roasted turkey and ham.

I’m excited that you’re so interested in art. Your artistic ability is a God-given talent and you should pursue it. There are so many beautiful things where you live to inspire your artistry. My son Evan is also interested in art and he graduated from secondary school last year winning his school’s graduation medal for visual and performing arts. We were very proud of him. We want to support you in your pursuit of becoming an artist, so please let Theresa know if there are any art supplies you are needing.

About values, God has given us two commands that guide my life; Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and all with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus said that “all the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments”, meaning that if you abide by them, you’ll be living in God’s will.

God bless you, Exuper, and love from all the Conklin Family!
