Juma Coronavirus Update

Hi everyone!!

It is my hope that you are doing well. I am also doing well.

I am on a holiday due to the outbreak of the coronavirus that started in march and the schools here in Tanzania were closed.

During this holiday, I have been doing many things, some of which are; helping my grandmother with cultivation activity, doing revision on what I have been studying at school and I providing education to my fellow villagers. The number of families I have educated is approximately five.

Before the “holiday” I was studying organic chemistry in chemistry, waves in physics and excretion and osmoregulation in biology. I was about to finish my twelfth grade in June 2020.

I would like to thank everyone who has supported me with my education and living expenses when I am at school and during my Covid-19 “holiday”.

May God bless you all,

Love,

Juma

Juma’s Update 2019

Hi everyone,

It is my hope that you are all fine. I am fine and doing well. I am now on holiday for about two weeks from school.

I am at advanced level (high school) at Bendel Memorial Secondary School, where I study science subjects which are physics, chemistry and biology and general subjects like basic applied mathematics and general studies. The school is not so far from where I live so it only takes me an hour and a half to reach there. My favorite subjects are physics and biology since they are the most interesting and the most applicable in our daily life. They are also the subjects that I perform the best in.

During my studies, we have learned a lot. For example, in physics we have finished mechanics One and learned about dimensions, Newton’s laws of motions etc. In chemistry we have learned about the atomic structure and we are now learning about the states of matter: solids, liquids and gasses. In biology we have learned about cytology, biochemistry, classification and homeostasis and we are now learning about excretion and regulation process in living organisms.

Due to the science subjects that I take, I will be able to go to college for further studies to become a doctor. The college that I wish to go to after I graduate from my advanced level in 2021 is KCMC.

In my holiday, I am doing revision on what I have been studying at school and trying to study beyond what the teachers have been teaching in order to make it easier for more revisions at school. I also help my grandmother on harvesting maize and I help my relatives and friends with their studies because they are going for their national exams.

I would like to thank Make A Difference Now for shining light on my life by supporting me with everything that I need.

May the almighty God bless you all.

Love from,

Juma

I’m now in the 10th grade at Royal Secondary School

Hi everyone

I’m now in the 10th grade at Royal Secondary School. Our class is a division of two classe; science and the business. I take science subject to help me accomplish my goal of becoming an engineer. The subjects that I need to help me reach my career goal are:- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM). The reason I want be an engineer is that our country has very few engineers. One of my biggest dreams is to have enough wealth that I can help my relatives and help those who are in need of support such as as orphans. I am helped by MAD. I give all my thanks to Mama Henry (Theresa) and may God bless her with her family. At school, I have many friends such as David, Nobert, Said, Denis, Owen, Hassan, and Yuda but my best friends are David, Nobert and Saidi. The reason they are my best friends is that they are the ones who I normally study with, they aim higher and they always give me advice when I have a problem that I need help with.

What I have done since the beginning of this year

Hi guys!!

I’m fine and I hope you are fine too. This is my blog about what I have done since the beginning of this year. During the holidays, I always like helping my grandmother because she is the one who raised me and cared for me until I was sponsored.
School opened on the 9th of January and now I’m in the tenth grade. Before starting classes, I was told by other students who had already passed 10th grade that it is hard to understand what is taught because of the large amount of notes one has to write and little amount of time to do revision. Due to hearing the other students advise and experience, I was able to prevent having the same problem. At the beginning of this year, my form (9th grade) two national results were due and I’m very happy that I had division one pass which is the best score in Tanzania passing with As and Bs!
Also in this term we will be having school competitions for soccer between our school and a neighboring school called, Elimo. I’m very happy because soccer is my favorite sport and I’m one of the participating players of my school team.

I’m Trying to Be #1 at School

Hi everyone!  I’ve been position 3 out of 24 students. I’ve maintained the same position before. My aim now is to be # 1 at school.

Just recently school closed for holiday, I used my time to help my grandparents and filled my timetable for my personal studies in order to achieve what I had planned before to be position 1.

Also, I had a good time with friends playing football. It’s my favorite sport which I enjoy. I also don’t want to forget to inform you guys that I will be sitting for my national examinations in November this year. I have one month left and I will be doing a lot of revision by using different materials. I promise you that I will do better than you could ever imagine. When the results are out, I will be there to inform you all on how I did.

Lastly, I need a lot of prayers from you to help me so I can perform well and succeed!  Thank you, Juma.

Looking forward to sports day!

Hello,

Tomorrow is sports day at Royal Academy – I am going to participate in football and I’ll be excited if we win!

We get a special lunch that I’m really looking forward to of chicken and chips. usually we have Ugali, so it will be nice to have something different!

I am studying hard so that I get A’s in my national exams in November. I think my best subjects will be Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Next time I update my blog I will share my results.

Thanks,
Juma

Seeing Lake Victoria

Hi Guys!

I am writing my blog to all of you so I can tell you the things that I was interested in. I am now at school and on the first time I came to school there was an announcement which we were given by the teacher on duty. The announcement was about Form Four’s graduation. When I heard the announcement I remembered that my sister too is graduating this term. I believe that she graduated well on graduation day with and all the others.

On our graduation day there were gifts that were given to students who performed well and in our class I was one of them. Also in this term I was chosen as the “Sports Perfect” because I participated well in all the games.

But before that three of us who did well in our studies were chosen and taken to Mwanza. At that region we saw many things and we went to many areas. One of the places we went was the Sukuma Museum. There we saw many things and I learned how the Sukuma people lived in the past. Also we went to the Saanane island which is in the middle of Lake Victoria. On the island I saw animals and went in areas where there was good and fresh air.

I thank those who paid for us to go on the trip because I never knew one day I would see Lake Victoria with m own eyes, other than seeing it in the textbooks. Also I thank Mama Theresa for paying my school fees. May God be with her and her family, without forgetting her husband.

It’s
