Painting the library

After another marvelous breakfast of today’s special: french toast with fruit, we were on our way to work on the library. As we got ready and organized to start our day of painting, the kids at the school were very interested in everything we were doing. Our work day was accompanied by the brightest smiles. Some of the kids remembered us from the previous day when we brought laptops, and Alexa even got a letter. Earlier in the day, we had a small technical difficulty – we couldn’t reach the 15-feet high walls with our little paint rollers. But nothing to worry about, within 30 mins brooms showed up, which we just took apart and used as extensions. While we were painting the outside, the kids were having lunch in the opposite building, and offered some of us their lunch! Such sweet kids here! Needless to mention, we kindly refused and indulged in peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, masala potato chips and peanuts. After lunch we started plastering, which some of us were a bit challenged with. But everything looked just great at the end of the day, and we’re eager to go back tomorrow for another 5 coats of paint, plaster and sanding. When we reached home, and yes, it feels like home, the amazing duo, Pina and Susan, had the most wonderful dinner ready – ¬†tilapia curry, quinoa, cucumber tomato salad, butternut squash, banana stew, rice, topped with Pina’s world famous banana nut bread!
